Better Goals = Better Health

Too often, we get caught in the trap of setting nutrition goals for ourselves that are focused on weight change or body image. I encourage my clients to avoid goals like those. Fad diets offering a fast track to weight loss always leave us right back where we started (just as fast). Goals based on losing/gaining X amount of pounds can leave us stumped when we reach that goal, or feeling crushed when we can't seem to make it. Our nutrition strategy should be focused on the long game. No "lose weight quick" scams. No watching our bodies change, then comparing our progress to supermodels. Our goals should be built on the improvement of our health and happiness, and they should be built to last! I LOVE goals that dare to think bigger than the number on the scale:

  • Have more energy throughout the day.

  • Sleep better.

  • Improve our body's strength against aging and disease.

  • Reduce stress.

All of this is what we push for with proper nutrition. And to reach these goals, we pick up permanent healthy habits like:

  • Drinking more water.

  • Getting on a sleep schedule.

  • Eating more fruits & veggies.

  • Movement for fun!
