Hey there-
Let’s discuss why caring about your nutrition is more than watching your caloric intake, it’s a complex science that’s very specialized to you. According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics: working with a registered dietitian can holistically help you commit to a healthier lifestyle through food and nutrition services. Working with me at Kim Shapira Method, I will:
· Personally tailor a nutritional plan after an initial assessment.
· Help manage acute and chronic diseases leading to healthier lab results.
· Give guidance navigating food allergies, sensitivities, weight gain, self-image, and overall nutritional understanding.
Using my method of Six Simple Rules as a structure, I will show you how you can be flexible and still be in control of your health. I spend a lot of time during the initial assessment learning all about your health, your family history, your needs, and your goals. Then I teach you how to apply my method in a multitude of ways. We set up goals and learn to stick with them during follow-up visits. These therapy visits can be done through Individual or Group settings. Sometimes your visits may involve keeping a food journal and writing down your eating habits. (I have attached the link here for ease to my wellness tracker.) I may also ask you to consider taking a food sensitivity test to start. The benefit of knowing if you have a food sensitivity could shift everything. I suggest Everlywell for this test. If you have any kind of food sensitivity in your diet, your symptoms are non-life-threatening but may cause digestive distress that presents as a headache, foggy brain, burping, clearing your throat, bloat, nausea, gas that is smelly, constipation, diarrhea, joint pain or rashes.
Another benefit of having the support of a true RD is after your annual visits to the doctor, if you have high blood pressure, cholesterol, or diabetes, we can take closer look to fully understand how food could be affecting your health.
I am committed to helping people enjoy healthy lives through their food and nutrition services as well as being there to motivate you to create real life measurable, action-oriented, and time-bound goals. I will help you put into your action a plan for success, by versing you in the love language of nutrition. Don’t be shy, we will do this together! You can do this individually, although I do recommend trying a group because your peers are available for ongoing text support.
I bet you are interested in practical lifestyle advice, and I can help by sorting through the facts and fiction of nutrition headlines? You will learn how to read labels at the supermarket, discover how fine-tuning techniques make it easy to dine out and make good choices, and how to manage temptations. When you see me, the last thing you'll get is one-size-fits-all diet advice.
I so look forward to meeting you! If you have questions, reach out.

*(When seeking out a registered dietitian, remember to look for the RD (Registered dietitian) title. Registered dietitians may use either title to show they have completed their education and training established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics. If the nutritionist you are thinking about does not have the RD title, ask about their credentials to ensure they have proper training.)
Water is the most crucial nutrient we can physically put into our body; our bodies should be 60% water. Our cells are about 43% water. We have a 100 trillion cells in our body.
Have you ever tried a food journal? Do you know why we recommended them? Do you remember what you ate at last week’s Taco Tuesday?
More than a third of American adults are not getting enough sleep on a regular basis. That’s a lot of people who are tossing and turning all night long.
