Hey there,


I wanted to take a moment and re-introduce myself to you. I am Kim Shapira a registered dietitian and a nutrition therapist. What that means is that I am educated and trained to understand how food, vitamins, minerals- basically all nutrients affect a healthy and a diseased body. If you have high cholesterol- I can help you with that. If you want to lose fifteen pounds and it makes sense I can help you with that. If you have heartburn, I can help you with that. I can also help you maintain good health or wellbeing as I like to say. But I am so much more than that, in fact, I felt like I had to be, to help you and everyone you know stay well. The problem was that my education didn’t teach me how to help people stay on a continuous wellness journey, and I was determined to change that. I have spent my entire career figuring out how to keep the balance in a unbalanced life or even to re-balance. That is how the Kim Shapira Method came to be and it’s based on Six Simple Rules.


What we eat is really important. What our body needs is really important. What your neighbor is eating isn’t really that important. I changed my focus really early on to to be why we eat. We will get to what we eat, but only when we master understanding why we eat. Losing weight or lowering your cholesterol are beyond important. But what happens the day after you reach your goal- in a lot of peoples cases their new practices go away and then they find themselves at square one: frustrated, ashamed, disappointed and fatter and sicker than when they started.

I get really excited when someone starts to make lifestyle changes, I encourage them to do what they need to do to keep going. I encourage them to do things that are sustainable. Or else what’s the point?


I am not very judgy and I would encourage you to not be judgy as well. People need to take care of themselves. We need to give them the space to do it, how they need to do it.  Whether you have a history with seeing food as the enemy, or food as your only source of comfort, or diet pills, or even restrictive eating, I believe you can always start to improve yourself at any time. There has always been fads. It’s a $33 billion business. But any changes have a real shot of sticking- it just takes the right kind of change to make it work. My Six Simple Rules are just that. They can help you lose weight and they can help you stay the same weight. And I don’t really measure a diet, or lifestyle change until it’s maintained- do you?


Last year I was approached by Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi, a world-renowned OBGYN and surgeon. Her passion and focus has been on treating women with PCOS. A part of her treatment, she has been using medications (semaglutides: Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus) since 2014 — she is a pioneer in using these types of medication for PCOS treatment and for weight loss. She came across my Six Simple Rules through a mutual friend and she wanted to know more. She was working on her weight loss platform and felt like my Six Simple Rules are the missing piece of her puzzle. Dr. Aliabadi and I connected because we both DO NOT believe in restrictive dieting. She asked me to join her platform as a nutritional coach because of her belief in what I do and her understanding of how my rules can help alter someone's life for good. What an honor!


I will ALWAYS support someone making changes, I appreciate that, and I will support you and try and open your mind because there is so much more to learn. I will always discuss the pro’s and con’s, and I will always encourage everyone to focus on what happens after.
