✨ Embracing Growth and Purpose

“I speak my mind because it hurts too much to bite my tongue.” – Unknown

Can you believe it? It’s already mid-September, and we’re 8 months in! I’m so grateful you’re still here with me. This next chapter is really special, because we’re diving into something close to my heart: the soul. Your soul is the spark that makes you unique, the gentle guide that holds your values, your purpose, your deepest why. It’s what brings your story to life.

That’s big. That’s powerful. And that’s exactly where we’re going next, together.

I want to tie this chapter to this week’s challenge: speak your truth.

I’ll be honest - when I first heard that phrase years ago, it felt confusing and even a little annoying. A psychic once told me the only thing I needed to do in my life was “speak your truth.” That was it. No detailed predictions, no magical wisdom, just that. Meanwhile, my brother (yes, @roaming_elephant, if you know him) had the most fascinating reading. I remember walking away thinking, really, that’s all she had for me?

But the truth is… she was right.

Over time, I started to notice something. My thoughts and words weren’t always in sync. I would give advice to a client, or answer a question from a friend, and in my head I’d hear a little whisper that didn’t quite align with what I had just said out loud. My truth had always been there, waiting to be spoken - I just hadn’t been listening.

Like everything else worth doing, speaking your truth takes practice. It requires slowing down enough to hear yourself clearly, then having the courage to actually say it. It can feel uncomfortable at first, but it’s also freeing. When your words match your truth, life feels lighter. That’s soul work. That’s the heart of the journey.

✨ Here’s your challenge this week: Pay attention to where your words and your truth might be out of sync. Maybe you promised yourself you’d go for a walk, but didn’t. Maybe you told a friend you’d call before a binge, but avoided it. Maybe you said “I’m fine” when you weren’t.

The point isn’t to shame yourself. The point is to gently notice the gap between what you feel and what you say — and then close that gap, one small step at a time.

Your truth matters. When you practice speaking it, you create trust within yourself, and that trust is a form of medicine.

My hope is that The Kim Shapira Method has helped you become more aware of yourself, your feelings, your habits, and even how you navigate the tough days. Food is just one part of the equation, but purpose, intention, and spirit? That’s the heart. That’s what brings everything to life.

I have a request, are you up for it? I hope you are! It’s more of a little challenge for you this week: do something each day that nudges you gently out of your comfort zone. Research shows that embracing discomfort helps us grow, prepares us for whatever life throws our way, and teaches us how strong we really are.

Remember, “scary” doesn’t have to mean skydiving - though if it does for you, I want all the details! For some, it’s closing the kitchen after dinner. For others, it’s making that phone call you’ve been putting off. Or maybe it’s starting a conversation with someone new. Whatever it is for you, it counts.

Here are 4 ideas I created to get you started:

  1. Talk to a stranger.

  2. Give something away.

  3. Eat half of your normal portion.

  4. Ask for help.

💡 And some tips for finding and speaking your truth:

- Pause before answering and ask yourself, “Is this really what I think or feel?”

- Start small. Speak the truth about simple things before moving on to the more complex ones.

- Write your thoughts down to hear them more clearly. Sometimes the pen is braver than the voice.

- Remember: your truth may not always be easy, but it will always set you free.

Do Something Every Day That Makes You Happy.

Happiness and courage are best friends. When you step outside your comfort zone, you create space for more joy, greater self-trust, and a deeper sense of purpose. That’s what soul work is about. And after all these weeks together, I hope you see this journey is about so much more than food. It’s about finding the courage to grow, the purpose that keeps you going, and the soul that brings everything you do to life.

Inspiration for the week:

“Speak your truth, even if your voice shakes.”

So, are you in? Let’s do this together.

With courage and care,
Kim 💜
