The Secret: Protein is the "Off-Switch"

That safety signal is Protein. It triggers the release of satiety hormones (including your body's natural GLP-1) and tells your brain, "We are safe. The hunt is over. When that noise starts to rise, run a quick internal diagnostic. Imagine you’re at Chipotle. If a savory bowl with double chicken and greens sounds delicious, that is Stomach Hunger.

Your biology needs fuel.

If you only want the chips and queso? That is Mouth Hunger. Your brain is looking for a dopamine hit to soothe an emotion.
