Do you have the right fuel in the tank?

Last year, I embarked on a massive mission to publish a book and raise awareness around it, plus I created a masterclass that dives deep into the intricacies of building a healthier relationship with food. I believe that food is fuel for our bodies; while also playing an integral part in our lives that impacts us in ways beyond mere sustenance. Through both, the book and masterclass, my goal is not just to impart knowledge but to ignite a transformative journey towards understanding the fundamental role that food plays in our lives. I aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the nutrients that our bodies require, while also exploring the psychological and emotional aspects of food and eating. I believe that building a healthier relationship with food is a journey that requires self-reflection, self-awareness, a willingness to embrace change, and pure conviction that you deserve peace with your health and in your diet.

My masterclass, just like the book, is designed to empower individuals with the tools they need to make informed decisions about their food choices and to cultivate a positive relationship with food that supports their overall health and well-being.

Consider this: food is fuel. And anytime we think food is fun, or comfort, or entertainment, or the enemy it means we needs to stop what we are doing, take a few deep breaths, and recognize that our alarm has been set off. Our rational mind knows that food is fuel, it’s when we get triggered that we rationalize - irrational ideas.

Food has the power to evoke emotions because we imprint on memories: we remember how food brought people together, or is it the occasion brought people together and the food was also there when fuel was needed. And what if we loved what we ate without shame or guilt, and trusted the food would be there when we needed it? We all have memories around family gatherings and for some they think what they enjoyed was the food, when in fact if was the company, and for some it creates stress, guilt, and shame. Food is essential, meaning we need it. And what’s more, food should only be one important part of your day.

So, how do we make choices that honor both our physical and emotional well-being? It starts with education and awareness. By understanding the nutritional value of foods, we can make informed decisions that support our health goals. And like my favorite question “What is your why? I’ll repeatedly ask you, Does the food you eat, love you back?” How long are you willing to stay in a relationship that is hurting you?

But knowledge alone is not enough. We must also cultivate a deeper understanding of our own relationship with food. Are we using food as a coping mechanism for stress or emotions? Do we find ourselves mindlessly eating, disconnected from our body's hunger cues?

By exploring these questions and delving into the root causes of our eating habits, we can begin to make meaningful changes that align with our health and wellness goals.

Furthermore, it's essential to recognize that our relationship with food is not static; it evolves over time. As we learn and grow, so too does our understanding of what nourishes us, both physically and emotionally.

That's why I am reminding you, that this masterclass isn't just about acquiring knowledge; it's about developing sustainable skills that will serve you for a lifetime. It's about empowering you to make conscious choices about the foods you consume, not just for yourself but for future generations.

Together, we'll explore practical strategies for building a healthier relationship with food, from mindful eating techniques to meal-planning tips. By implementing these strategies into your daily life, you'll not only improve your own well-being but also contribute to a culture of health and wellness that extends far beyond yourself, like your family and friends.

So, join me on this journey towards a healthier relationship with food. Let's fuel our bodies with love and nourishment, not just for today but for a lifetime of wellness.

Thank you for all of your support. You are my teachers as much as I am yours.
