I often ask people about their 'WHY', which is also the focus of my book, This Is What You're Really Hungry For. Want to know the secret to a happier and healthier life? It's simple - it’s called peace. Finding peace in your relationship with food and your overall health is the key to unlocking a world of wellness and vitality. Let's explore how we can achieve this together!
There is so much nutrition noise that even I have to check myself sometimes. Right now everybody thinks we need more protein. This is a very unpopular opinion but the truth is we don’t get it in so many things. Don't misunderstand me, protein is an essential macronutrient that our bodies require. However, we do not need to consume 20-30 grams of protein per meal. Unlike carbohydrates, our bodies do not have a place to store excess protein, so it gets converted into fat. Therefore, it is important to include all food groups in our diet and not skip any of them. The question we should be asking is am I hungry when you are about to eat? Also, what we are eating, should love us back. Remember to start with half of the portion, that’s the fail-safe, that way we won’t overeat. Pay less attention to trends and more attention to these six simple rules.
There will always be nutrition noise. The diet industry is a 33 billion-dollar business. I hope my six simple rules help you dial down the noise so you can keep the focus on how you feel. Remember you are in a relationship with your body.
The good news is, that we can reverse so many things that are happening in our body because our bodies are just magic. It's self-healing and self-regulating, we just need to give it the right nutrients and let it do its thing. And don't focus on what you need to remove, just focus on what you can add. Please go out of your way to eat more fruits and vegetables always start with half and eat them when you're hungry, but incorporating more fruits and vegetables is going to help you find that peace that you want.
